VF13 BREAKING NEWS: 2ND SOLD OUT "COMMIE CAMP" BLOCK SETS NEW VF RECORD

That's right... we now know what well over two hundred people will be doing on the evenings of June 28th & 29th, when VF13 "Centerpiece" world premiere, COMMIE CAMP, ignites the screen at New York's Tribeca Cinema.

Calls flooded the VF offices and tickets SOLD OUT completely for the added show in just two days, making this the fastest selling program in the 13 years that VF has been running.  The encore program block, which includes the shorts THE COLLECTOR'S GIFT, I FEEL STUPID, and THE GASKETTES, plays on Saturday evening, June 29th, at 5:30pm.

VISIONFEST 13 PROGRAM 06 IS SOLD OUT WITH 23 DAYS TO GO...

What are people doing in New York this summer?  Well, we know what a whole slew of them are doing on the evening of June 28th.  Literally selling like 'hot cakes,' as the old saying states, tickets to Program 06 of this year's VF13 line-up are SOLD OUT.

One of two "Centerpiece" blocks of this edition of VF, Program 06 boasts the World Premiere of Katie Halper's COMMIE CAMP, a documentary film about Camp Kinderland, a summer camp which, since 1923, has been preaching the gospel of peace and social justice for all, just as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck rage against the supposed indoctrination of today's children by 'extremist' liberal institutions.  This film shows what really goes on at one of these 'training' camps.  Preceding the feature presentation will be the animated short, THE COLLECTOR'S GIFT, by Ryan Kravetz; the coming of age short, I FEEL STUPID, by Milena Pastreich; and the fun on wheels short doc, THE GASKETTES, by Jason House.

Tickets for this engagement 'sold out' in a mere 8 days and with 23 days to go before show time, making this one of the fastest selling VF programs since director Steve Balderson's narrative features, FIRECRACKER (VF05) and THE CASSEROLE CLUB (VF11) pulled similar speed sales in their respective runs.  Tickets to other VF13 shows are still available and may be obtained online by visiting:

VISIONFEST 13 OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES LINE-UP!

Photo taken hours before the opening program of VF10

New York, May 17, 2013 - Coming in a couple of days earlier than originally slated, VISIONFEST 13: THE OTHER FESTIVAL, is proudly posting its full Program Lineup for this year's fest.  The announcement is being anticipated from its original target date of May 20th in an effort to give participating filmmakers, particularly those who are from out of state, a little more time to possibly consider their prospective plans to be on hand when their projects unveil in the independent film mecca of New York City: TriBeCa.  The early announcement is also intended to provide more strategic planning time for everyone involved, as VF13 preps its official "Press Release" announcement, which will go out as planned, on the morning of May 20th to the festival's media database.

For the complete schedule with synopses, info links, and trailers, please visit our website at:

We would like to publicly congratulate all the filmmakers whose works are being showcased this year and we look forward to seeing you all at Tribeca Cinemas for...

Some years ago, I had the great fortune of meeting Roger Ebert during a Press Screening at Sundance... I actually sat across the aisle from him, which was a goose bump inducing experience. That same year, I saw him do a "live" commentary of the first 30 minutes of CITIZEN KANE at a special Hamptons Film Fest screening... another great moment... minutes later, I shook his hand... the hand of the Pulitzer Prize winning film critic, who today, rejoined his best friend Gene in that great movie theatre in the sky... agree or disagree with their reviews, none of it matters. What's left is the legacy... These gentlemen changed the way people perceive film criticism forever. From SNEAK PREVIEWS to SISKEL & EBERT... AT THE MOVIES, mainstream America now views films in a whole other way... and to that, I say, now and forever, thumbs up Roger and Gene... R.I.P. and thank you for the magic!
